AUSTIN -- Texas State Representative Lynn Stucky joined his Republican colleagues in the Texas House today in condemning the comments made by the Bexar GOP Chair. Here is that joint response:
“George Floyd’s death was a tragic injustice that left an indelible wound on our nation’s history, and the conversation it has sparked about racism and inequality in America deserves to be met with compassion, understanding, and respect for all Americans. Cynthia Brehm’s comments — riddled with conspiracies and misinformation — only serve to stoke political fires and create further division, neither of which belong in public discourse or the Republican Party. The House Republican Caucus strongly condemns Brehm’s remarks for being both inappropriate and wholly incompatible with the values of our organization, and we join the Republican Party of Texas, Governor Abbott, Speaker Bonnen, and other state leaders in calling for her immediate resignation as Chair of the Bexar County Republican Party.”
