Dr. Lynn Stucky announces re-election campaign
SANGER, Texas — Today, Dr. Lynn Stucky announced he will seek re-election in 2024 to continue representing House District 64 in the Texas Legislature. After his busiest and most-successful legislative session, the rural veterinarian is ready to continue delivering for Denton and Wise Counties.
“This session made it clearer than ever that we need responsible, effective conservative leaders in Austin to keep Texas growing strong,” said Dr. Stucky. “Since I first took office, we’ve accomplished more conservative victories than at any other time in Texas history. We’ve delivered on historic funding for border security, property tax transparency and relief — including a cap on rate increases by local governments and schools — the strongest Pro-Life laws in the country, strengthening election integrity, 2nd Amendment rights, and protecting our children from leftist indoctrination in our schools.”
In the 2023 legislative session, Dr. Stucky wrote and passed 17 pieces of legislation that were sent to Gov. Greg Abbott’s desk to be signed into law. Those include:
The historic "Athena Alerts" bill creates a system for regional Amber Alerts, in honor of 7-year-old Athena Strand who was kidnapped and murdered from her home in Wise County (HB 3556);
Supporting law enforcement and public safety, including workforce tools for sheriffs (HB 898, HB 2183);
Creating regulatory stability to prevent woke city councils from enacting ordinances outside their authority, like the unconstitutional push to decriminalize marijuana in Denton and fire law enforcement officers for upholding state law (HB 2127);
Supporting efforts in Wise County to protect historic sites, promote local tourism, and expand the Wise County Fairgrounds (HB 1034, HCR 27);
Honoring military heroes with the “Lost Battalion Memorial Highway” connecting Wise and Jack Counties (HB 3099); and
Expanding opportunities for Denton youths to earn scholarships through a state-of-the-art facility supporting the North Texas Fair & Rodeo, as well as local businesses (HB 5105)
Stucky continued, “I look forward to returning to the district to talk about these victories with my neighbors in Denton and Wise Counties, and to discuss the challenges that face our state moving forward. If given the opportunity to keep representing this part of Texas in the legislature, I will never stop working on property tax relief, empowering parents, strengthening education, securing the border, and delivering actual accomplishments that have marked the most conservative era in Texas history.”
Dr. Lynn Stucky has lived and worked as a rural veterinarian in North Texas for 40 years. He has previously served on the Sanger ISD Board of Trustees, including as board president. He is a graduate of the Leadership Denton class and has volunteered more than 1,000 hours of professional time to care for animals across the region. The Stucky family are active members of the Denton Bible Church, and Lynn and his wife, Lori, helped found the area’s Young Life ministry.
