Andy Hopper, supporters caught lying to Texas parents
For months now, I have been hearing from voters who are concerned about the text messages and mail they received claiming that Texas kids are in danger of being victims of the woke agenda. These message claim that I supported a bill to allow for children to receive dangerous gender treatments at hospital. In fact, I helped pass the new law that bans those gender modification procedures on Texas children.
Senate Bill 14 came under vicious attack from the Democrats. Locally, a group of individuals protested outside my district office in Denton in opposition to the bill to protect children. I remained committed to delivering this Conservative priority for Texas.
Despite the public record showing I passed this law, Andy Hopper and his supporters continue to lie to parents. They point to a bogus procedural vote on an amendment that relates to “transitional” care, which relates to the literal transfer of a patient from any medical treatment inside the clinic to at-home/outpatient care.
It has nothing to do with gender transition procedures. That one word was enough to confuse Andy and his supporters and spawn the mail and text message lies spreading across Denton & Wise Counties.
Thankfully, Dr. Tom Oliverson, a fellow Republican lawmaker in the Texas House who sponsored the bill pushed back on these lies and attacks.
This hasn’t stopped Andy Hopper from lying about my record on gun rights, border security, pensions for judges, blocking LGBTQ+ resolutions, and delivering historic property tax relief. I will continue to fight these lies and let voters know the truth.
It’s because of my work on these issues that I was named a Faith & Family Champion by Texas Values in 2023. But Andy’s supporters have their own “scorecard” they keep and they are using that failing grade to attack me as well.
Don’t be fooled by these political games. Andy is manufacturing these lies because he knows that I have delivered Conservative priorities and will continue to deliver for Denton & Wise County. That’s why voters rejected Andy Hopper for Texas Senate in 2020, and they rejected him for Texas House in 2022.
On May 28th, 2024, send him a third and final message that you don’t want him representing you or any Texan in the legislature. Early voting is open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday, May 20th-24th.
